Life is tough get a helmet...

Just when I think life is hard, something happens to put everything in perspective.  Things like a messy house or working late seem trivial.  This weekend we went to Target to buy Benedict swim trunks and a swim shirt.  Clara was riding in the shopping cart, and while Matt and I were talking, she decided that she wanted out of the cart at that very moment.  Well she got out but landed on her little noggin.  It was the worst sound ever.  Matt picked her up and gave her the once over and she seemed to be o.k.  Screaming but o.k.  When we got home she started throwing up so after a pointless call to the doctor we decided to take her into the E.R.  Poor little babe was such a trooper.  She was so brave when they examined her and even when they gave her a CT scan.  She clung to her blankie and the hand sewn bear they gave her.  They asked her questions to check her cognitive level (who knew a 3 year old and a person with a head trauma have the same mental level?)  Clara passed the verbal test with flying colors.  However, she has a skull fracture.  We were so blessed that we were able to go home that night and she had no bleeding in her brain.  She has been sleeping in our bed and enjoying some extra snuggles per parents orders.  As for the doctors orders, no running, jumping, swinging, or anything else a 3 year old would do.  Plus the kicker, she has to wear a helmet during any outdoor activities!
Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and prayers we needed them.
She is feeling a lot better besides begrudgingly accepting her new sedentary lifestyle.
