Summer Shenanigans

Life goes on.  We have been plugging away at our favorite summer activities...

Relaxed Summer Home School Lessons:  This beautiful quilt was made by Matt's aunt Sandy.  It has been upgraded from Benedict's room to our home school room to help Clara learn her letters.

Trips to our Local Library:  The girls love to read and were excited for us to receive our first bill at our new house (glad someone was) so we could get a new library card.

Look at how excited she was to get her new library card.

The Columbia Park Zoo: After the Indianapolis zoo we joked the local Lafayette zoo would be no more than a monkey and a duck.  Turns out they don't even have ducks :)  They do have farm animals, butterflies, and a wallaby walk about.  It was beautiful and free so no real complaints.

Tropicanoe Cove: After working up a sweat walking around the zoo we crossed the parking lot and went to the water park to cool off.  It was such a blast.  We lounged around the lazy river, swam and even flew down a couple big slides.  Maddy was the only one of the girls big enough to ride the rides.  She was so scarred that Matt and I lead by example and went down the "Banana Split" to prove it wasn't too scary.  I laughed my unadulterated laugh typically saved for riding on the sled pulled by our car.  I had not done that in years and had so much fun.

Our first experience with frozen custard.  Delicious!

Maddy tackling a Wipe Out type obstacle.
Loving every second.

If you look real close you can see two little bottom teeth!

  1. Looks like you guys are settling in. Love that your girls love books. I can only dream about that for Grady who cannot manage to sit still to make it through a book to save his life. Great pics!
