A partridge in a pantry and other Advent traditions...
Merry Christmas Eve!
I love this time of year and having kids that are bubbling with energy and excitement just adds to the fun. The girls are at the perfect age to enjoy every Christmas tradition. Even with a our new little guy, we were able to squeeze most of the old ones in and even add a couple new ones. Advent is big in our house with nightly prayer and cuddle time. I wish we could always be this good at our night time rituals. We say the St. Andrew's novena and this year we enjoyed the Holy Hero's adventure and an online advent calendar that the girls refer to as the magical village. Some of my favorite moments from this time; was counting all the houses in our neighborhood with lights (way to represent), Clara saying "Him most blessed mother" instead of "His most blessed mother", Grandma Erni's insta-snow, thinking about new places to hide Ruby, our Elf, singing the 12 days of Christmas a la the Muppet version, and that all of our girls would say "a partridge in a pantry."
Old Traditions: Decorating our Christmas Tree in Advent (Let's be honest Princess) colors, Christmas light scavenger hunts in Quail ridge, an Advent wreath, Christmas pancakes, and Gingerbread houses.
More Christmas music, less T.V. |
New Traditions: Holy Heroes, the magical village, the feast of St. Nicolas and Elf on the Shelf.
...and of course there was lots of this!!!!
In case I didn't say Christmas enough in this post... Merry Christmas!
