Madeline's First Reconciliation

As part of her preparation for her first Holy Communion, Maddy received her first reconciliation this Sunday.    

Reconciliation, or more commonly known as Confession, is acknowledging our sins and asking Jesus to forgive us.  This is something that we have instilled in our children from a very early age during our night time prayers, but it is exciting to make it "official."  I think our nightly prayers and her weekly religious prep made this a very easy and natural process.  

Our family stayed after mass to support and cheer her on.  Father Henry and Father Brian did a great job of introducing the sacrament.  Father Henry has been a priest our church for awhile so he has married a lot of the parents and baptized a lot of the kids.  I was happy that Maddy was able to go to such a veteran. 

We are so proud of her and she is one step closer to receiving the Eucharist.
