Big vs. Little and other family games...
Last week while sitting at work I devised this elaborate plan that included library story hour, pizza, lots of laughing, and a whole bunch of "gee mom this is so fun moments." Let's just say it did not go as planned. Maddy got a bloody nose and started crying, Matt was a pizza snob, and the baby was restless. After an hour I chalked the whole trip up to being a bust. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. The next morning while I was walking in the parking lot at work there was a Fast Glass truck. The girls have this game, that started out with Christmas lights and has extended into EVERYTHING, where they say "first, second, third one to see it." I couldn't help but say under my breath "Fast Glass first one to say it." I started laughing because for every failed attempt there are a million little moments that make me smile.
Here are some of our family favorites...
Big vs. Little: The girls have this new game it is called big versus little. The premise of the game is to hide and when an unsuspecting "big" (sorry Matt) will be walking down the hall or sitting on the couch they attack. There is lots of screaming and laughing. Matt fends them off by tickling and throwing them on the bed. Let's just say the "littles" usually win.
The "Talking" Baby Ben: Another crowd pleaser is the talking baby Ben. I do my best baby voice, think Elmo, and talk to the girls. They absolutely love it. Funny how when Baby Ben asks for them to put their jammies on they do it with no complaints. Sophie also talks for baby Ben, apparently touching him is a necessity. She also measures him daily with her hands to see how much he has grown.
The Big Bad Wolf: The girls crowd into our hampers with flash lights and friends. After they close the door. The big bad wolf comes and knocks on the door... you know the drill. It ends with a spraying of spit and air followed by the cutest giggles. The only thing more fun is when Baby Ben plays the big bad wolf!!!
