Something Beautiful!

The girls and I decided to hang around after church last Sunday to hear a couple of speakers on vocations.  There were 2 beautiful girls in there early 20's who gave a testimony on their choice to be part of a religious order of sisters.  One of the girls is a St. John's lifeteen alumni!  Her talk was about the power and beauty that comes from being present with God and just about the beauty of His love.  She studied abroad in Italy for many years and the outward appearances of the churches fell short compared to the beauty that she receives in the fulfillment of her vocation and in the blessed sacrament.  Overall a wonderful talk.  I am reminded daily of the beauty of my vocation... motherhood.  Beauty and fun come everyday in the simple things.  Like I bet you didn't know that the girls and I have our very own "band."  We blast our radio in the car and everyone takes a part.  Maddy usually plays the air guitar, Sophie the maracas, Clara the tambourine (assigned by Maddy, of course), and I back up singer and sometime if I am lucky lead vocals.  Our set includes; Something Beautiful, God's not Dead, and the Party Rock Anthem.

I love this picture of Clara.  She looks like a bag lady sans the crooked lipstick job.  Under her amazing beastie coat is her favorite pink dress that she wears almost daily.  The day this picture was taken, the older girls spent the night at grandmacita's house.  She was relishing the fact that she was an only child getting to "walk" Ginger and spend so much time with mommy and daddy.  It is fun to pretend we only have one kid.  Life is easy but oh so boring!  After 3 hours we were all asking "where Fofo and Maddy went?"

Clara spent the night on the Dora couch in Maddy and Sophie's room twice.  She loves every minute of being a big girl.  She also loved waking Maddy and Sophie up to play at 4 a.m.  Let's just say this has not happened again.

Finally, look who likes her bath again!  After a potty in the bath incident she was traumatized to take her diaper off and/ or get in the tub.  Like a light switch she decided she liked it again.  Who knows why but I love not having bath time be a fight any more.
